Champagne Bollinger La Grande Annee 2015

Made only from Grand and Premier cru grapes, La Grande Année is the embodiment of the carefully preserved traditional expertise of Champagne Bollinger. Vinified in oak barrels, sealed with natural cork and riddled by hand, this champagne has waited patiently for 10 years in Bollinger’s chalky cellars.

Champagne Bollinger has never abandoned vinification in oak, an ancient method that helps develop aromas of great finesse. After a prolonged ageing on its lees, even today every bottle of La Grande Année is riddled and disgorged by hand.

An earthy, intense and concentrated taste. A golden yellow color, a sign not only of the wine's maturity, but also of Bollinger's winemaking methods. The initial scent reveals notes of apple, plum, mirabelle plum and a touch of honey, followed by aromas of red fruits such as cherry and blackcurrant, enhanced by almond. The second nose combines an exotic hint of mango with subtle vanilla and woody accents. The attack is plump and generous, with a gourmet palate reminiscent of mirabelle plum jam. The finish blends chocolate, citrus fruit and a touch of schist, offering a beautiful generosity.

The vintage year 2015 benefited from an ideal climate for excellence, alternating between moderate rainfalls and intense sunshine, expertly controlled by Champagne Bollinger. The harvest, revealed grapes of the highest quality: small, tightly-packed berries, exceptional ripeness and perfectly balanced acidity.
