Pian delle Vigne 2019, Antinori

Vineyard: Pian delle Vigne estate is located six kilometers south of Montalcino, overlooking the Orcia River valley. The property spans 454 acres, with 160 acres planted with vines, situated at an altitude of 130-200 meters and facing southwest. The soil is primarily clay and limestone, enriched with small stones.

Winemaking: Careful selection of the finest grapes is made for the Brunello di Montalcino. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks and lasts for three weeks at controlled temperatures, peaking at 28°C. Following alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation takes place, after which the wine ages for two years in oak barrels. After bottling, it undergoes an extended aging period before being released.

Characteristics 2019: A ruby red color. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of black cherries and sanguine oranges, followed by notes of violet, vanilla, and subtle balsamic aromas. On the palate, it is fresh with silky, elegant tannins. The long, persistent finish is defined by citrus notes, delicate spice aromas, and hints of vanilla.
