PDO Moschato Patras

In the Protected Designation of Origin zone of Moschato Patras, sweet wines are produced from sun-dried grapes, as well as sweet fortified wines made from these grapes. Only the highest quality grapes from the Muscat family are used, specifically the small-berried White Muscat. The tradition of producing these wines in the region dates back to the 19th century, a legacy that has been brought here from the nearby island of Cephalonia. The combination of the Mediterranean sun, the rare North-Northwest orientation for Greece, and the sea breeze from the Patras and Corinthian gulfs create ideal conditions for producing high-quality raw materials.
